we are seeking a talented and passionate optical engineer to join our dynamic team in mexico, a key strategic region for valeo's growth in north america. You will contribute to shaping the future of visibility and safety on a global scale through optical design.
what you’ll achieve
* own the optical design lifecycle: drive feasibility, design, integration, and validation of optical systems.
* lead the simulation activities: ensure photometry, colorimetry, and lit appearance results comply with regulations.
* innovate: contribute to creativity by developing new solutions that enhance vehicle illumination or driver experience.
* collaborate globally: work in a multicultural, international team, communicating with internal departments and international collaborators to ensure project success and technical excellence.
what you’ll bring to the team
* a bachelor’s or master’s degree in optical engineering, physics, industrial physics, or related technical field.
* demonstrated experience in the optical field, optical design, simulation, and hands-on laboratory validation.
* knowledge of optical design software (e.g., speos, zemax, lighttools).
* strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to technical challenges.
* solid communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
* fluency in english required to operate in our international organization.
* prior experience in the automotive industry or plastic optical design is a significant advantage.
