responsibilities
support the global legal department in representing the company’s interests in transactions matters, including interactions with commercial customers, landlords, vendors, and service providers.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial service contracts and other commercial documents, confidentiality agreements, lease agreements, construction agreements, equipment leases, equipment purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and information technology license documents.
Assist with transactions and real estate and procurement-related matters across multiple geographies.
Provide routine support on bankruptcy matters, secured credit issues, corporate entity management, litigation management, and other general legal questions from global business teams.
Effectively manage multiple matters with different priorities simultaneously.
Qualifications
law degree and a professional license/authorization to practice law in mexico in good standing.
Fluency in english and spanish required; professional level portuguese preferred but not required.
Experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry is preferred but not required.
Strong experience in real estate and commercial law; contract drafting and negotiation experience.
Ability to identify, analyze, assess, and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients to make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.
Integrity, ethics, initiative, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent time management, prioritization, written and oral communication skills, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
Location
the position is based in expeditors’ office in mexico city.
