We are looking for a skilled network support engineer (l2) to provide advanced troubleshooting, operational support, and hands-on assistance for enterprise network environments. This role acts as the escalation point for level 1 support and collaborates with global noc/l3 teams to ensure network stability, performance, and availability.
this is a technical, hands-on position requiring strong problem-solving skills, customer focus, and the ability to support a wide range of network technologies.
responsibilities
* provide advanced troubleshooting and support for lan, wan, wlan, vpn, and general connectivity issues.
* diagnose and resolve problems involving vlans, trunking, routing protocols, switching, ip addressing, dns/dhcp, and enterprise wi-fi.
* perform onsite "hands and feet" tasks such as equipment installation, cable patching, power cycling, hardware replacements, and console access for remote teams.
* support configuration changes, firmware updates, and maintenance activities following itil change management processes.
* assist remote noc/l3 teams with network diagnostics, data collection, and execution of guided procedures.
* troubleshoot wireless access points, controllers, ip phones, and voip devices as required.
* ensure compliance with network security standards, including device hardening, proper access control, and adherence to corporate policies.
* document all activities, maintain accurate records in itsm tools (e.g., servicenow), and provide clear escalation notes when required.
* monitor network performance, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvements.
* coordinate with third-party vendors, carriers, and internal teams to support incident resolution or scheduled work.
requirements
* 3–5 years of experience in network support, noc, or infrastructure roles (l2 level).
* strong knowledge of tcp/ip, dhcp/dns, vlans, stp, routing basics (ospf/bgp), switching (l2/l3) and wi-fi troubleshooting.
* hands-on experience with at least one enterprise vendor ecosystem such as cisco, juniper, aruba, hp, meraki, fortinet, or similar.
* ability to perform onsite tasks including hardware replacement, patching, cabling, and guided hands-on procedures in network racks.
* familiarity with network monitoring tools (solarwinds, prtg, zabbix, etc.).
* experience using itsm tools like servicenow, remedy, or jira service management.
* strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently with remote supervision.
* bilingual english–spanish with ability to communicate technical information clearly in both languages.
