Disc brake caliper development engineerthis role is responsible for supporting the design, development, and validation of remanufactured and new disc brake calipers.
as a key member of the team, you will contribute to the launch of new products into the automotive aftermarket by performing engineering development, analysis, testing, sourcing, and manufacturing support.
your primary objective will be to ensure timely launches while continuously improving processes to increase productivity and reduce waste.main responsibilities:you will perform geometric, dimensional, and identity analysis of original equipment parts through reverse engineering.you will create and maintain bills of materials in mrp systems for designated products.you will provide sources for and manage the development of new product components.you will prepare prototypes and ppap samples for hydraulic testing, manage test reports, and evaluate testing results.you will review, maintain, and provide modifications/approval of supplier part drawings.you will conduct form, fit, and function testing of ppap samples to oem and bpi specifications.you will generate and maintain testing specifications/procedures and support the design and procurement of testing equipment.you will provide technical support to product management, manufacturing facilities, global sourcing, planning/purchasing, r&d, or other teams.you will support supplier development and continuous process improvement through value engineering and value analysis.you will review and pass engineering judgment on engineering change requests and deviations from manufacturing facilities.you will analyze warranty trends for product improvement needs and opportunities, and address warranty issues.you will maintain oe, ppap, and component sample libraries.you will support internal customers, including technical service, marketing, and sales.required skills and qualifications:you must have a strong analytical and problem-solving ability with the capacity to prioritize complex tasks.you should possess highly developed attention to detail.a strong knowledge of cad software (preferably in solidworks) is required.excellent verbal and written communication skills in english are essential.a strong knowledge of disc brake caliper function is necessary.requirements:a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or ten years of similar experience is required.strong knowledge of cad software (preferably in solidworks) is required.english proficiency (80% plus willing to learn) is mandatory.travel to the us as needed may be required.
