*job summary*

the senior director, global sales - cala is a core member of the global sales leadership team, providing strategic direction and management oversight for the global sales organization across the region. Reporting to the senior vice president, global sales, with a dotted line to the chief commercial officer - cala, this role leads the development and execution of sales strategies that grow profitable market share and drive top‑line revenue across all demand segments, including business travel, leisure, group, extended stay, and luxury. Partnering closely with the vp gso luxury and the senior director, b2b event strategy & experiences, the role ensures strong regional alignment on strategy and execution. Key responsibilities include building and leading a world‑class sales organization; setting and communicating clear priorities aligned with global sales and company objectives; deploying resources effectively across brands and hotels; developing compelling segment value propositions; delivering room night and revenue targets; and collaborating with regional, market, and property teams to ensure sustained pull‑through of segment strategies for both new and existing accounts.

*candidate profile*

education and experience
- required_
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in business administration, hospitality management, or related major.
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience in related function.
- previous experience in events management.
- preferred_
- experience directly managing complex budgets
- proficiency in both written and spoken english
- total account management experience, plus a proven track record of leading sales teams.
- 5+ years’ experience with marriott’s systems platforms

- oversees compensation and incentive plans aligned to desired behaviors.
- coordinates cross‑discipline resources to execute and sustain segment strategies.
- partners closely with operations to ensure hotel‑level execution.
- aligns initiatives with the chief commercial officer and cala leadership.
- champions business transformation and enterprise‑wide change initiatives.
- builds strong franchise, owner, and business‑unit relationships.
- serves as a proactive leader within global sales and regional teams.
- educates stakeholders on segment customers and value propositions.
- influences, negotiates, and sells ideas effectively without direct authority.
- develops visible, timely, and effective stakeholder communications.
- holds teams accountable for top‑line growth, profitability, and market share.
- develops and executes segment plans to improve efficiency, revenue, and roic.
- manages account portfolios, segmentation, coverage, and deployment models.
- manages budgets, wage and benefit costs, and financial performance.
- monitors reports and financials to assess results against plan.
- delivers best‑in‑class, customer‑centric solutions and incorporates feedback.
