job summary
we are seeking a dedicated
rn pre-op/pacu
to join our team on a prn basis. This role is essential in supporting smooth surgical flow and ensuring exceptional patient care from pre-operative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.
key responsibilities
* provide high-quality nursing care in both the pre-op and pacu settings, ensuring continuity of care and continual evaluation of patient condition.
* implement all physician orders while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
* assist physicians in procedure rooms as needed, including supporting conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique when appropriate.
* deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
* complete accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients and families in preparation for discharge.

* strong interpersonal and communication skills
* ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
* excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
* ability to master new skills and adapt in a fast-paced environment
* thorough understanding of the perioperative process, surgical procedures, and anesthesia considerations
* current clinical assessment and patient care skills
* telemetry experience required
experience required
* graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* current state rn license
* current bls, acls, and pals certifications
* minimum of 2 years of experience in pre-op, pacu, or icu
