Operational excellence coordinator
the operational excellence coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role drives process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements by applying lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving methodologies, and data-driven decision-making.
the coordinator works closely with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to identify improvement opportunities, standardize processes, and support the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
responsibilities
* support the implementation of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
* facilitate and participate in lean manufacturing activities such as kaizen events, value stream mapping, 5s, and waste reduction initiatives.
* monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
* assist in the development and standardization of best practices and process improvements across production lines.
* coordinate cross-functional improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
* provide support in problem-solving activities using methodologies such as root cause analysis, pdca, and structured problem-solving tools.
* help implement and sustain continuous improvement culture across operational teams.
* support training and awareness programs related to lean principles, standard work, and operational excellence tools.
* track and report progress of continuous improvement initiatives and savings projects.
* collaborate with plant leadership to ensure alignment of operational excellence initiatives with business objectives.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, business administration, or related field.
* +5 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence roles, preferably in the automotive industry.
* knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
* experience with process analysis, performance metrics, and improvement projects.
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
