job summary:
the health economics manager is responsible for leading and managing the economic evaluation of pharmaceutical products and healthcare interventions. This role involves conducting cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact analyses, and health economic modeling to support pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies. The health economics manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including medical, regulatory and commercial departments, to ensure that economic evidence is integrated into decision-making processes.
key responsibilities:
- economic evaluation:
- conduct cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact analyses, and other health economic evaluations for pharmaceutical products.
- develop and validate health economic models to assess the value of new and existing therapies.
- prepare and present economic evidence to support pricing and reimbursement submissions to health authorities and payers.
- market access and reimbursement:
- collaborate with market access teams to develop strategies for gaining and maintaining reimbursement for pharmaceutical products.
- provide economic input into pricing strategies and negotiations with payers.
- monitor and analyze changes in healthcare policies and reimbursement environments that may impact market access.
- data analysis and interpretation:
- analyze clinical trial data, real-world evidence, and other relevant data sources to inform economic evaluations.
- interpret and communicate the results of economic analyses to internal and external stakeholders.
- ensure the accuracy and robustness of economic models and analyses.
- cross-functional collaboration:
- work closely with clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to integrate economic evidence into product development and commercialization plans.
- provide health economic expertise to support clinical trial design and data collection.
- collaborate with external experts, including health economists, academics, and consultants, to enhance the quality of economic evaluations.
- communication and reporting:

qualifications:
- education:
- master's or phd in health economics, pharmacoeconomics, public health, or a related field.
- experience:
- minimum of 5 years of experience in health economics, pharmacoeconomics, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- proven track record of conducting economic evaluations and developing health economic models.
- experience in market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies.
