position summary
we are seeking a master production scheduler based in our tijuana facility. This role is critical in overseeing and coordinating production activities across tijuana, houston, and san diego, ensuring alignment of resources, schedules, and priorities. In addition to production scheduling, this individual will support the purchasing team to maintain material availability and optimize supply chain performance.
key responsibilities
* develop and manage the master production schedule across multiple facilities (tijuana, houston, san diego).
* align production capacity with sales orders, forecasts, and inventory requirements.
* coordinate with engineering, operations, and purchasing to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
* monitor and adjust schedules to minimize downtime, bottlenecks, and late deliveries.
* support purchasing team in identifying shortages, expediting materials, and managing supplier relationships.
* track kpis for production efficiency, on-time delivery, and material availability.
* prepare and present reports to management on production status and resource planning.
* contribute to erp/mrp system updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
* strong knowledge of erp/mrp systems (epicor preferred).
* understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, fabrication, assembly.
* experience coordinating production across multiple sites is a strong plus.
* ability to assist with purchasing functions and supplier coordination.
* excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* bilingual (english/spanish) preferred.
