Job description

responsibility level:

the buyer is assigned to a series of items and is responsible for ensuring that the requirements for these purchased items are fulfilled in a timely manner. This includes reviewing follow-up actions to minimize inventory stock-outs, updating purchasing parameters to ensure parts are ordered according to the replenishment method, and maintaining minimal inventory levels to meet the company's doh target.

principal duties:

* analyze mrp demand and replenish stocks timely.
* place purchase orders and expedite delivery of materials to meet production requirements.
* review open requirements through reports and expedite or defer as necessary.
* monitor vendor performance via otd and provide feedback for improvement.
* address issues related to delivery, pricing, and invoicing promptly.
* provide forecasts to vendors as scheduled.
* update purchasing parameters to ensure material availability and optimal stock levels.
* implement material-related projects.
* resolve discrepancy problems promptly.
* execute po actions, including exception handling.
* manage inventory actions, such as disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
* comply with activities outlined in the jci safety commitment letter.
* participate in safety subcommittees, audits, risk assessments, and ehs programs.
* implement and maintain security, health, and environmental policies at work.
* support committees in identifying risks and environmental aspects.
* participate in training programs, identify safety, health, and environment training needs, and train staff accordingly.
* define corrective and preventive actions.
* control system logs and develop/review procedures and instructions.
* intervene to correct unsafe acts and recognize safe behaviors.
* identify and report potential environmental impacts.
* analyze and prevent consequences of activities before they occur.

requirements:

* bachelor’s degree or 3 years of experience in purchasing.
* able to travel.
* fluent in english (written and spoken).
* leadership skills, teamwork, and service attitude.
* ability to work under pressure and make strong decisions.
* excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
* experience in manufacturing planning.
* ability to interpret mrp reports, stock status, variance reports, and customer shortage reports.
* knowledge of queries on as/400 or similar databases.
* ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
