role overview:
hartree metals mexico s.a. de c.v., a fully owned subsidiary of hartree metals, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our mexico team on a full-time basis.
this role would be responsible for developing commercial presence in mexico together with the country head, including commercial negotiation with suppliers, logistics planning, supporting in the writing and reviewing contracts, following up on contract performance, market analysis, opportunities, and projects.
responsibilities:
trading:
support the p&l generation within the country from concentrates trading
support in building strong relationships with miners, smelters, and refineries
prepare bids in coordination with the hartree metals' country head and the hq traders
visiting mines, transload facilities, and warehouses
look after the logistics for the movement of the materials before vessel loading
collect market information related to inland and ocean freight (containers and bulk)
coordinating shipment schedules with miners
provide input on commercial contract drafting
help explore investment and prepayment opportunities
support the customer onboarding and preparation of the know your customer ("kyc") process, including the collection of any supporting documents/information needed to complete the onboarding
market intelligence:
collection of key information on mexico mining and smelting production/output and inter-region movements, along with imports and exports from the region and their respective disputes/counterparts
participation in formulation of trading strategies for wider group
map all the producers (opportunities in the country).
work with our projects team to build a database/pipeline for future opportunities to invest debt and/or working capital to secure offtake
support in project due diligence, including the identification of suitable third parties to manage the technical, legal, and financial evaluation
requirements:
a bachelor's degree in business, law, commerce, logistics, or a mining-related discipline such as metallurgy, geology, chemistry, or engineering would be viewed favourably
between 5 and 15 years' experience in the metals/concentrates trading or mining/metallurgical sector or related industries
strong leadership skills and commercial acumen
hands-on, ability to work independently
ability and willingness to travel
must speak fluent spanish and english
