This role is within chamberlain group's nogales quality and compliance group. A successful incumbent is expected to:
1. maintain and update the quality procedures as required by our documented quality system.
2. plan and implement corrective action programs to minimize losses and improve yields; determine improvements goals based on historical performance of kpis.
3. implement a quality audit plan to monitor conformance to quality procedures and inspection/test instructions.
4. apply statistical methodologies for continuous improvements of process (gage r&r, hypothesis, control charts, process capability).
5. identify process, methods, and design issues which impact negatively on quality, costs, and yields; participate in sustaining engineering regular reviews and/or early involvement reviews with cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality.
6. conduct studies and audits of manufacturing processes and products; develop and implement process controls for critical assembly operations.
7. coordinate quality planning on new product introduction; drive component quality planning with internal operations; participate in cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality; oversee implementation of apqp practices within new product development teams; ensure execution of apqp methods and assigned deliverables, product assurance planning, ctqs, and control plans; participate with other teams on the generation of fmea.
8. utilize techniques, systems, and methods that promote prevention as a solution to quality/reliability issues.
9. participate in internal ppaps/product qualification for fabricated components and/or sub-assemblies, to ensure proper qualification process.
10. work closely with new product development core teams to identify ctq attributes and then coach and guide teams with proper planning to achieve within the product and process design.
11. serve as escalation point for addressing all component-related throughput, quality issues and/or technical term discussions encountered by manufacturing to facilitate cross-functional resolution.
12. comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
minimum qualifications
education/certifications:
* bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical, electronics).
experience:
* 5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes or quality engineering.
* experience with products/processes transfers.
* experience in quality control techniques and applied statistics.
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* working knowledge of microsoft office and related applications.
* strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* understanding in statistical tools and problem-solving skills.
* project management.
* working knowledge with new product introduction (apqp).
* working knowledge in dfm (design for manufacturing) and dfa (design for assembly).
