investigator - triage investigations
role purpose
financial crime investigations (fci) focuses on the specific financial crime threats the us faces now and, in the future, pioneering the techniques and technology that protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate from the harms associated with financial crime. Fci harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end, always seeking the most effective and efficient means.
The global triage team are responsible for conducting exposure checks in response to certain triggers in support of the banks management of financial crime risk.
Main activities:
undertake hsbc exposure check, risk exposure, external research, and assessing case rating to determine which next level team should receive the case.
The provision of timely and reliable assessment and triage on potential financial crime risks to improve risk management decisions within fci.
To adhere to the globally defined triage procedures or approved country variances across fci, which are designed to support the operational effectiveness of the investigative capability.
Ensure that all cases are correctly entered onto the case management system.
Independent assessment/validation of referrals.
Identifying and prioritizing referrals where special action is required, e.g.:
where urgent action is required.
Staff-related referrals (internal investigations).
Participate in ad hoc assignments and projects from time-to-time, as needed.
