a quality engineer is responsible for making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials and processes, audit and monitor that the processes, systems, procedures and work instructions are executed as intended to ensure the manufacturing of a product that meets all customer specifications as well as verification that employees are trained to the right quality standard. If anything goes wrong, it is the quality engineer’s job to meticulously document the problem and work with other engineers to find a solution.
education / experience
- bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- two years minimum experience on a manufacturing facility process and or engineering environment.
- ms-office (excel, pp, word), knowledge of statistics, computer components, ipc a 610, iso-ts, ppaps, apqp (spc, control plan, pfma,etc), lean manufacturing principles, 7s's, six sigma, problems analysis and knowledge on corrective and preventive actions development and implementation
knowledge
- ability to make decisions, work under pressure, oriented to objectives, proactive, organized, analytic, self motivated, ability to work on teams, negotiation skills. / analyze data from customer or internal and request information from other functions or proper sources to complete assigned tasks. Identify negative trends on metrics and make recommendations to cft team to bring them under control. Make other accept challenges and find solutions to issues affecting daily operations or customer satisfaction.
- knowledge of team roles in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards and how they are related. Systems and procedures used to sustain manufacturing operations, epicor, spdrs, agile, etc.
