Director of sales

Sls playa mujeres is seeking an experienced director of sales with a strong background in luxury and all-inclusive hospitality. The ideal candidate will lead strategic sales initiatives, drive revenue growth, and position the property as a top luxury destination in both domestic and international markets.

key responsibilities

1. develop and execute sales strategies for north america, mexico, and europe, maximizing revenue across fit, mice, and destination wedding segments.
2. strengthen partnerships with otas, consortia, travel agencies, and wholesalers to increase production and market share.
3. collaborate with revenue management to optimize adr, occupancy, and revpar through effective pricing and segmentation strategies.
4. coordinate marketing and public relations efforts to ensure consistent brand communication and visibility.
5. represent the property at trade shows, roadshows, and industry events to promote brand awareness and business development.
6. lead, coach, and motivate the sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
7. maintain close communication with ownership and senior management on progress, opportunities, and market trends.
8. partner with f&b and events teams to support group, banquet, and wedding sales.
* minimum 5 years of experience in a director of sales role within the luxury or all-inclusive hotel segment.
* strong understanding of international markets and key distribution channels (otas, consortia, dmcs, wholesalers).
* proven leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
* fluent in english; spanish proficiency a plus.
* solid knowledge of key performance indicators such as adr, revpar, mice revenue, and market share.
* key performance indicators (kpis)
* year-over-year room and event revenue growth.
* improved market share (mpi) and optimized channel mix.
* increase in direct bookings and key account retention.
* achievement of team sales goals and employee engagement targets.

qualifications

* fluency in english language; ability to speak and present clearly and effectively
* ability to work independently
* excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
* analytical, pro-active and innovative mind
* detail-oriented and highly reliable in thorough execution and follow-through
* high integrity and ability to keep confidentiality
* bachelor's degree
* 5 years' experience in sales and marketing position
* pre-opening experience
