This is a full-time contract position based on Pacific Time business hours, Monday through Friday, and requires using your own computer with reliable high-speed internet.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively surface insights: analyze data to uncover trends and valuable insights, then share findings with the team to drive action.
- Generative AI: use AI to brainstorm approaches, generate prototypes, debug code, and document work.
- Campaign optimization: optimize spend and targeting for multi-million dollar paid media campaigns in partnership with the marketing team.
- A/B testing & experimentation: design, analyze, monitor and interpret tests and experiments.
- Forecasting & budgeting: create traffic and revenue forecasts, ROI projections, and performance benchmarks for planning.
- API integration: connect with APIs (e.g., Adwords, Meta, Semrush) to collect data for monitoring and improvement of campaigns.
- Data modeling: model attribution across offline and multi-touch channels (marketing mix modeling, multi-channel attribution).
- Data transformation: build, update, and maintain ETL pipelines for accurate channel performance reporting.
- Reporting: build and maintain Tableau dashboards used by the marketing team and stakeholders.
- Analysis: perform deep data analyses and present findings to stakeholders and leadership.
- Cross-functional collaboration: work with marketing, product, and data science teams to translate business needs into data questions and deliver insights.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- 5+ years in a highly technical Marketing Data Science or related role (ideally for an online business)
- BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (master’s degree or PhD a plus)
- Experience and enthusiasm for leveraging generative AI technologies to solve problems efficiently
- Strong proficiency in SQL (e.g., Google BigQuery and MySQL)
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing paid media campaigns
- Experience building and using Marketing Mix Models and handling multi-channel attribution
- Experience writing code (ideally Python and Java)
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills and a data-driven approach
- Experience creating complex data visualizations in Tableau or similar tools
Nice To Have
- Familiarity with our tech stack (BigQuery, MySQL, Cassandra, Python, Java/Groovy, Tableau, Jenkins, Linux, Google Cloud)
- Hands-on experience with advanced statistical concepts and machine learning models
- Understanding of Web Analytics and SEO
