about the team
we serve our colleagues by providing support to anyone in astrazeneca who is willing to innovate and explore new solutions. We partner with it colleagues in business facing groups (btgs) and across all of az it to deliver their needs. Our teams are located in global technology centres in chennai and guadalajara, plus across europe and america, working closely where needed.
about the role
the sap fico consultant will be accountable for:
* resolving any sap issues reported by the business users and delivering all enhancements as required by business users.
* completing all tasks assigned by team lead and project manager, reviewing solutions designed by the team members and proposing improvements.
* working proactively with business users to identify and resolve recurring issues.
requirements
essential
* in-depth functional understanding for their respective work stream and expert knowledge in configuration and maintenance of sap systems.
* good understanding of business processes in the life sciences / pharmaceutical domain.
* at least 2 years of proven experience as functional fico consultant participating in incident and change management.
* experience performing sap fi configuration is a must.
* experience on core fi processes (general ledger, ar, taxes, banks) and particularly ap including invoice verification processes and host-to-host bank transactions (payments, electronic bank statement).
* good understanding of co core modules, mainly integration within fi in cost center accounting and internal orders.
* good understanding of integration with other modules for commercial and logistics scenarios.
* exposure in highly customized sap environments and working on interfaces with non‑sap systems.
* very good understanding of integration of sap modules in end‑to‑end business processes.
* ability to work in large and complementary teams.
* exposure to run sap (solution manager) methodologies.
* good understanding of gxp and sox requirements; should have working experience in a validated environment.
* should be aware of release governance processes and have experience in working on any incident management tool.
* experience with various estimation techniques.
* good communication and social skills.
* well versed in english and spanish; good spoken and written skills.
* proactive approach to problem solving.
* experience working in a globally distributed team.
desirable
* controlling submodules such as product costing / profitability analysis.
* hands‑on experience in other functional sap core modules (fi, mm, pp).
* participation in full sap implementations.
* sap certifications.
* abap (debugging).
* specific country localizations (e.g., electronic invoicing, taxbra).
* certified scrum master (csm) certification required; additional agile certifications (e.g., pmi‑acp, safe) preferred.
