qualifications
* hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in systems engineering, architecture, software, electrical/electronics engineering, or related field.
* have 7+ years of experience in systems-level design, engineering, or architecture within a technical or r&d environment.
* communicate effectively in english, both verbally and in writing.
* strong understanding of electrical systems and the interaction between hardware and software components.
* experience working with digital products, including networking, communication protocols, cloud services, apis, and cybersecurity.
* deep technical expertise in electrical and software-driven systems such as control, embedded, and digital systems.
* collaborate effectively across teams, locations, and time zones, tailoring communication to different audiences and stakeholders.
* translate high-level product requirements into detailed technical specifications for diverse stakeholders.
* demonstrate strong systems thinking, understanding complex systems, dynamics, and interactions.
* experience with product lifecycle management, designing architectures that consider long-term scalability and sustainability beyond a single release.
responsibilities
lead system architecture studies and reviews, ensuring alignment between north america requirements and global initiatives.
define and support system requirements, connecting them to verification and validation strategies to enable robust software and hardware solutions.
act as a technical expert throughout the product lifecycle, supporting development projects, providing clear technical direction, and ensuring alignment with architectural standards and long-term product strategies.
contribute to innovation initiatives, leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and digital tools to enhance r&d efficiency and enable new design opportunities for kone americas.
support cybersecurity initiatives by understanding evolving risks in connected elevator systems and ensuring secure, compliant solutions.
maintain design quality and adherence to global standards, while keeping effective communication channels and up-to-date system architecture documentation.
