Overview:
statement:
this position is responsible for helping maintain the uptime and stability of herbalife's storage devices. It is also responsible for helping maintain the defined service levels agreements and operational level agreements within herbalife. This person primary responsibility will be to work with our san's and storage solutions. The storage engineer ii will also make recommendations to improve storage area networks and maintain documentation by keeping it current. The position will also take a lead role with projects such as new hardware rollouts, storage performance tuning, troubleshooting and diagnostics
detailed responsibilities/duties:
level ii
- monitor all the storage systems (san,nas) for any alerts
- must be able to do storage allocations for both file and block systems
- basic trouble shooting of storage related errors
- scanning of the provisioned storage for different os platforms (windows,linux and vmware)
- updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- create zoning for the new servers and clusters
- basic understanding of database technologies
- able to do data sync activities for test and dev instances from production data copy
- have good knowledge on clone and snap technologies
- performs risk assessments and testing of data processing systems
- recommends additional measures and process improvements
