Job description:
what can you look forward as a program buyer:
* support projects through procurement of all materials needed for a particular end product
* support the implementation of the zf commodity strategies
* manage the whole purchasing process for new products or localization of existing products through supplier search, bill of material cost management; support the commodity organization in their request for quotations, commercial negotiations, contractual agreements including warranty and consignment agreements, prototype orders, and purchase orders and/or scheduling agreements.
* monitor the performance of the suppliers during program launch and through product life cycle
* continuously review cost performance to target; nominate parts for global competitive sourcing
* analyze north american supply base to prepare and recommend suppliers to be added/removed from the approved supplier list as well as nominate suppliers for the strategic supplier list. Perform duties as assigned
your profile as a program buyer:
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or business administration, economics or related field
* 5+ years of relevant experience in a professional purchasing capacity (i.e. technical/commodity purchasing, purchasing project management, purchasing management, etc.).
* experience with supplier analysis and evaluation (i.e. quality, capacity, cost, etc.)
* experience with supplier bidding process and complex negotiations
* proficient with microsoft office (e.g. Excel, word, powerpoint, project etc.)
* experience with apqp and/or project management tools and methods
* proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management and proven ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment
