International accounting manager / controller (us gaap & international reporting)

vortix group is growing, and we are looking for an international accounting manager / controller who isn't afraid to dive deep into the numbers.
this is a key leadership position for a professional who masters us gaap and possesses the executive presence to collaborate directly with our u.s.-based leadership team. We have a solid foundation, but we are ready to take it to the next level.

the mission:
* financial integrity: lead the department to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and us gaap compliance.
* hands-on leadership: manage monthly operations while architecting the processes needed to support our international reach.
* strategic integration: ensure seamless financial reporting and collaboration with our international corporate teams.
* location: based in tijuana, b.c. (on-site).

key responsibilities
* financial stewardship: supervise and guarantee the preparation of financial statements under us gaap, ensuring full accuracy and integrity during month-end and year-end closes.
* corporate integration: act as the primary link between mexico-based accounting operations and u.s. Headquarters, managing reporting packages and financial consolidation.
* compliance & policy: develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to mitigate risk and ensure global compliance.
* strategic financial oversight: manage cash flow, budgeting, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights for corporate stakeholders.
* audit & tax liaison: coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure all local and international obligations are met.
requirements
* education: bachelor's degree in accounting. A cpa license or specialized master's degree is a significant advantage.
* technical expertise: advanced and current knowledge of us gaap (non-negotiable).
* experience: 8+ years in corporate accounting or financial management, preferably in international service-oriented companies or big four firms.
* languages: 100% bilingual (english/spanish). Must be able to conduct business meetings and write technical reports in english.
* cross-border mobility: must possess a valid sentri or global entry card for regular travel to our u.s. offices.
* systems: strong experience with cloud-based erps (netsuite, sage, intacct) and advanced excel modeling.
compensation
* starting monthly salary: $110,000 mxn (gross).
