job description:
* perform dimensional analysis and work with quality control processes to ensure high-quality products.
* develop tolerance stacks to guarantee that parts fit and function correctly, and review engineering drawings and specifications for design requirements compliance.
* support simulation to verify process, design, tooling, and structure confirmation.
* build tolerance simulation/analysis models in 3dcs software.
* utilize 3dcs software capabilities such as pre tolerancing document, gap flush document, measurement points document, and tolerance calculation model.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop product gd&t with customer and plant input, ensuring accurate tolerance calculations and simulations.
* use advanced tolerance stack analysis methods like worst case analysis, root sum squared (rss) analysis, and monte carlo simulation to predict assembly dimension distributions.
* maintain detailed documentation of the simulation process, assumptions, and results to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve future projects.
* create comprehensive reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively.
key qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* minimum one year of working-level experience in 3dcs software and two to five years of experience as a dimensional engineer.
* skilled in developing gd&t from scratch and experienced in tolerance stack analysis.
* strong understanding of tolerance simulation, including consideration of parts, weld/install fixtures, assembly order, and process sequence.
* excellent written and verbal communication skills, with six sigma certification a plus.
