to support our teams, we’re looking to add a process engineer punching & laser located in guadalajara, north campus.
reporting to the process engineer, the process engineer punching and bending processes main responsibilities include coordinating and executing manufacturing services to meet metrics such as reducing downtime, scrap, and ensuring compliance with hours earned and correct process execution.
what a typical day looks like:
* design and develop stamping processes for new products.
* optimize existing stamping processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
* conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
* collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of components.
* develop and document process specifications, sops, and work instructions.
* ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
* provide technical support to production teams for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
* analyze data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* train production staff on new processes and equipment.
* recognize manufacturing processes, technologies, techniques, and products.
* define, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
* identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process, independently or with other stakeholders.
* participate actively in daily production activities and problem-solving.
* prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production.
* oversee new process equipment production.
the experience we’re looking for:
* bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
* advanced english proficiency.
* proven experience in stamping or metal fabrication processes.
* strong knowledge of materials, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
* proficient in cad software and process simulation tools.
* excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* strong communication and presentation skills.
* experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma practices is a plus.
