the *mes sr engineer* serves as a key connection point between manufacturing operations and it, enabling effective mes solutions that support production execution, data visibility, quality, and digital connectivity across manufacturing environments.
*you will be responsible for*:
- assist in executing change control tasks and producing validation evidence (test scripts, results) for mes changes.
- support and lead pilot runs, go-lives, and early-life support diagnose physical and model-related failures and implement corrective changes.- work cross-functionally with it, engineering, digital, automation, quality, and business stakeholders
- identify gaps between process intent and mes execution and escalate as needed
- design, build, and maintain mes models and master data: recipes, routings/operations, equipment hierarchies, boms, parameters, and electronic work instructions.- execute and lead change control activities for model updates, producing complete validation artifacts.
- create and maintain reusable model templates, libraries, and naming/versioning conventions to accelerate npi and reduce configuration risk.
- mentor and review work of junior modelers; provide technical guidance on complex modeling scenarios.
- participate in cross-functional design reviews with process engineering, automation, quality, and it to ensure model feasibility and compliance.
- monitor model health and data integrity; proactively identify obsolescence or inconsistencies and remediate.
- contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce time-to-deploy for models and decrease production incidents.
- act as csv subject matter expert (sme) for new systems, major enhancements, and enterprise platforms
- lead system classification, gxp impact, and risk assessments
- lead creation and approval of requirements traceability matrix (rtm)
- lead design risk assessments and mitigation strategy definition
- lead csv impact evaluation for build-phase changes and deviations
- provide technical oversight of test execution, deviations, and defect management
- provide csv sign-off for production release and go-live
- serve as csv sme for incidents, capas, and audit observations
*qualifications / requirements*:
- strong mes core concepts understanding, including production execution logic, configuration parameters, workflows, production data models, and electronic manufacturing records, supporting end-to-end traceability.
- advanced sql and data handling skills: complex queries, joins, data validation, data reconciliation, and performance tuning; hands‑on experience supporting mes integrations, data imports/exports, reporting layers, and manufacturing data models.
- strong business analyst mindset with hands‑on manufacturing knowledge: ability to translate shop‑floor processes into system requirements, bridging operations, it, and digital manufacturing teams.
- deep understanding of manufacturing processes: direct, practical exposure to production workflows, quality, change management, routing execution, and operational kpis, applied through it and mes solutions rather than theoretical modeling.
- experience and education
- associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline.
- 6-8 years of experience in mes, manufacturing it or related.
- equivalent practical experience in manufacturing it, automation, or digital manufacturing environment.
- experience with siemens opcenter.
- experience with ignition (perspective & vision).
