job summary
health equity liaison – will leverage la tiendita as a health equity resource to support students, parents, and the community. Will strive to empower families to advocate for themselves and their communities through nutrition and other educational classes and sessions. Will provide information on nutrition education, financial literacy, and other social services including enrolling in snap and other state programs. Will collaborate with internal and external partners to maximize impact amongst ryss students and family members as part of the ryss district community school model.
education/certification
high school diploma / ged, 2-3 years in customer service working with wraparound services, nonprofit work a plus. Experience in food pantry distribution a plus.

* ability to tolerate and thrive in sometimes high‑stress work environment
* must be able to bend, lift, and carry items 30‑60 lbs
major duties & responsibilities
1. assist with managing daily operations of the program, la tiendita
2. meet and greet students, parents and community at la tiendita
3. assist with unloading food pantry items from boxes to shelves and storage units
4. assist in the collecting of records, documents, contacts, and assist with data input for la tiendita
5. assist the director of health equity and internal partners; keep accurate attendance records of the education classes and in the development of the monthly calendar activities
6. assist ryss families and community in participating in educational sessions and with food distribution
7. assist with logistics of the opportunities related to community educational activities
8. track database and maintain communication with current and prospective families
9. assist with data and success story collection
10. assist with completing intake forms into hfb link2feed and uniteus texas referral system
11. carry out the mission, vision, and strategies cooperatively with staff for other related services
12. other duties as assigned and related to health equity
