We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive accounting manager to join meztal, working with a u.s.-based client within the senior housing / real estate industry.
this role will lead general accounting operations, ensuring full compliance with u.s. Gaap, while driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, hands‑on experience with yardi, and a deep understanding of accounting practices within the required industry.
key responsibilities
* lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
* oversee general ledger activities, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and financial reporting in compliance with u.s. Gaap.
* prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
* ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
* collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision‑making.
* identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
* utilize advanced excel functions to analyze data, generate reports, and optimize workflows.
* work directly within yardi for accounting operations, reporting, and system management.
* partner closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.
requirements
mandatory requirements (non‑negotiable)
* 100% onsite availability in guadalajara (no hybrid or remote option).
* bachelor’s degree in accounting (only accounting degrees will be considered).
* proven experience in senior housing or real estate industry.
* hands‑on experience with yardi accounting software.
qualifications
* minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* advanced knowledge of u.s. Gaap.
* strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
* advanced excel proficiency (pivot tables, vlookup, complex formulas, data analysis).
* strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
* advanced english communication skills (professional working proficiency required).
