The human resources manager leads and manages all site-level human resources functions, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, alignment with business objectives, and effective people management practices. This role serves as a strategic partner to site leadership while overseeing day-to-day hr operations, including employee relations, payroll coordination, and compliance.
primary responsibilities
hr strategy & leadership
* lead and manage the site hr team, including pre-payroll, medical services, security & ehs.
* partner with site leadership to align hr strategies with operational and business goals.
* support organizational change & talent development initiatives and culture-building efforts.
employee relations & compliance
* ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and employment regulations.
* manage employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations.
* serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management.
* maintain accurate employee records and oversee compliance reporting and audits.
* partner with legal counsel and corporate hr as needed on complex matters.
payroll, compensation & benefits oversight
* oversee pre-payroll operations in coordination with finance.
* ensure accurate administration of compensation, benefits, and statutory programs.
* support annual compensation reviews, salary administration processes and salary benchmarking exercises.
talent management
* support onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives.
* partner with learning & development to identify training needs and support leadership development.
policies, controls & reporting
* develop and maintain hr policies, procedures, and standard work.
* ensure accurate hr reporting and data integrity within hris systems.
* support audits and compliance reviews related to hr and payroll.
* prepare and analyze hr metrics to support decision-making.
required knowledge/skills/abilities
education
bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or related field required.
experience
* 7–10 years of progressive hr experience, including people management responsibilities and environmental health & safety practices.
* strong knowledge of mexican labor law and hr best practices.
* experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
* strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
