Job description
provides courteous and efficient package delivery, sorting, and collection services, ensuring the delivery of packages by completing necessary paperwork and recording shipments in accordance with fedex express service standards.
responsibilities
1. provides safe and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages and documents, representing the company professionally.
2. operates non-articulated vehicles safely, complying with all governmental and corporate procedures.
3. performs accurate selection and inspection of packages, reporting stop counts and miss-sorts.
4. seeks additional business from current customers, attempts to gain new business, and informs sales of significant customer or competitor changes.
5. responds to customer inquiries about fedex services and keeps customers informed.
6. ensures packages meet fedex service features, are properly labeled, and paperwork is complete and accurate.
7. determines legality of packages, including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments, and separates packages accordingly.
8. scans packages as per procedures and demonstrates proficiency with service features and equipment.
9. ensures customers have adequate fedex shipping materials.
10. loads and unloads aircraft, containers, and vehicles, operating mechanized ramp equipment.
11. performs minor maintenance on vehicles and maintains a neat personal appearance.
12. provides and collects necessary paperwork, such as air waybills and shipping records, accurately and clearly.
13. maintains security of fedex and customer property, including cash, packages, equipment, and hazardous materials.
14. collects tax invoices from shipments for customs processing when necessary.
15. performs other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements
education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic english skills preferred.
experience: at least 1 year of driving 3.5-ton trucks, with appropriate licensing as per country regulations, a good driving record, and age 21 or older.
skills: ability to lift 55 lbs. (25 kg), maneuver packages up to 150 lbs. (68 kg), good communication, customer service orientation, problem-solving, accuracy, planning, team skills, and ability to work variable shifts.
