Job descriptioncost engineer specialist will be responsible for developing technical variable and tooling costs for assigned components and systems using activity-based costing methodologies.the role involves working from bill of materials, drawings, and/or samples to provide subject matter expertise in support of engineering and purchasing at working levels and vehicle program leadership through all development phases.key responsibilities include analyzing supplier quotes, reaching agreement on appropriate costs, and interacting with the team in design to cost initiatives, benchmarking, direct material and tooling costs.additional tasks include:developing costings in support of technical estimation and/or should cost based on technical features, specifications, and bill of material.proposing economic savings and optimization during vehicle milestones and cost target development.providing data-driven cost deltas for target and quote gap closure.negotiating during component rfq, change notes, vehicle milestones.utilizing stellantis methodology and cost database/calculators to develop and deliver cost analysis.supporting stellantis benchmarking & purchasing/engineering commodity strategies.qualificationsto be successful in this role, you will require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, or engineering, plus 3-5 years of working experience.bachelor's degree in relevant field.good level of english and ability to work in a global team.knowledge in the costing of cockpit-related components and assemblies (instrument panels, door trim, and floor consoles) and the required manufacturing processes.experience in design, release, or processing roles; or other credentials in combination with relevant experience in developing variable and/or tooling costs for automotive components.automotive knowledge of production methods and development processes in the vehicle sector, focus on injection manufacturing processes.automotive components basic economical knowledge (cost factors, cost analysis methods, etc.).detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple programs and cost details simultaneously.solid leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with english as official language for communication.preferred qualifications include advanced english communication, knowledge in manufacturing process (injection), and activity-based costing experience or experience in cost model development.about the rolethis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
