we are seeking a senior manager to join the business risk team, supporting regional oversight of credit and capital management (ccm) activities working across all seven pillars of ccm coo and into ccm front office partnering with market teams and aligning with the global business risk teams. Ccm is on a multi-year transformation across systems, people and processes requiring support across both bau and the change programme.
key responsibilities
* risk management:
o drive and implement a consistent, forward-looking approach to end-to-end risk management across the regionaligned to hsbc’s risk management framework.
o collaborate closely in-regional ccm teams global business risk teams providing subject matter expertise in areas such as operational risks, regulatory compliance, resilience, and financial reporting risk, ensuring we meet the expectations of regulators, stakeholders, and shareholders.
o provide daily oversight on risk and control matters, and constructive challenge to business leaders and risk owners.
o deliver a robust business risk agenda in a complex regulatory environment, supporting sustainable growth and increased technology adoption at pace.
o ensure proactive management of both financial and non-financial risks, adhering to the ccm organizational design and business risks framework.
o be a regional contact point for escalations within the region, ensuring visibility of the issues and facilitating remediation if needed within area of responsibility.
o drive the automation and simplification of the end-to-end control framework protecting ccm processes and products.
* requirements
knowledge and experience
o strong understanding of lending products and credit risk. Ability to identify both existing and emerging risks that will impact our ability to service our clients.
o familiarity with the lending journey, from origination, due diligence, credit approvals, client and portfolio monitoring and distribution.
o awareness of the external environment, including regulatory, compliance, esg and political factors.
o previous experience in risk management within a complex, multicultural organisation.
o ability to present complex issues clearly and confidentially to executives and regulators, using straightforward language suitable for a global audience.
o exceptional relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills.
o proven decision-making ability, especially under pressure.
o experience building senior relationships through effective communication, influence, and negotiation.
