we are looking for a senior payroll administrator for mexico to join our global payroll team reporting to the americas payroll manager, a trusted payroll expert that will ensure full compliance with mexican regulations while contributing to initiatives that enhance scalability, enable business growth, and elevate the employee experience.
beyond operational excellence, you will play a pivotal role in our payroll transformation initiatives, including supporting the successful implementation of our global payroll system.

what will you do?
* you will ensure the accurate and timely execution of mexico payroll in full compliance with local regulations and internal controls.
* act as key liaison across functions, collaborating closely with upstream partners such as the hr team to ensure data integrity and process alignment, while also partnering with downstream stakeholders in finance to guarantee accurate reporting and financial compliance.
* through proactive problem-solving, leveraging software payroll tools and continuous process improvement, you will help drive efficiency, standardization, and a seamless payroll experience for our colleagues.
* project implementation: leading and supporting the rollout of payroll transformation project and hcm integration.
* gather and process information for payroll movements, e.g. hours worked, absences, deductions, joiners/leavers/changes, as provided by the hr department.
* data entry and calculation of the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a payroll software tool and our payroll provider.
* monitor and process all types of advances and loans (savings, bonds, bonuses, utilities) for correct payroll deduction.
* preparation of imss contribution base salaries of employees and workers, to determine deductions via payroll, as well as to calculate the monthly imss settlement.
* prepare and process paychecks and bank deposits.
* prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for tax deductions, benefits and garnishments.
* maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
* manage payment calendars for the fiscal year.
* prepare periodic reports for review by management.
* respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
* report on management on payroll issues and changes.
* stay up to date on payroll/ tax laws and employment regulations to ensure compliance.
* ensure sox compliance with the payroll process and support audits on payroll procedures and records.
* develop a culture of continuous improvement, automation, digitization, adherence, and proactively propose enhancement to global standards.
education and experience
* bachelor’s degree in public accounting, business, accounting, or related field.
* minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in payroll in méxico.
* strong working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
* strong expertise using payroll software systems.
* prior experience in a publicly traded company with us gaap and sox is a must.
