this position reports to
r&d/technology manager
your role and responsibilities
in this role, you will have the opportunity to support the strategic technology direction by contributing your own ideas for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and solutions. Each day, you will assist the research and development (r&d) team by executing your assigned tasks and using technical knowledge in a structured way. You will also showcase your expertise by staying abreast of the state of the art and actively applying this knowledge. The work model for the role is: #li-onsite. This role is contributing to the electrification area in apodaca, nuevo leon. You will be mainly accountable for:
1. demonstrating good technical proficiency in own competence area. Performing a variety of technology/engineering assignments, demonstrating ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions. Documenting work and contributing to written reports for the area.
2. keeping informed of strategic plans and performing activities in line with current direction.
3. contributing to research development (r&d) projects with own, creative ideas. Proposing follow-up activities based on project results.
4. working as a reliable r&d project member and having the capability to be work-package responsible, applying a structured way of working.
5. gathering information about relevant abb products and technologies in order to achieve efficiency in own r&d activities and developing an understanding of technical drivers and customer value. Providing consulting services to business operations and customers.
qualifications for the role
* bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical engineering.
* experience of 2+ years in design engineering related to low voltage distribution products such as switchboards, motor control centers, switchgears, etc.
* knowledge of design in sheet metal, copper, and plastics.
* hands-on experience with creo and windchill.
* awareness of regulatory standards - nec, ansi, ul, nema standards.
* ability to perform mechanical and electrical calculations for analysis.
* advanced english level.
* agile process knowledge oriented.
