job summary:
we are seeking an experienced and strategic purchasing manager to oversee procurement activities for ff&e (furniture, fixtures & equipment), foh (front of house), and boh (back of house) for our restaurant operations.
this role will lead a team of senior and junior buyers, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, supplier management, and timely delivery across multiple units.
key responsibilities:
- lead and manage procurement activities for all ff&e, foh, and boh requirements across new openings, remodels, and operational needs.
- supervise and mentor a team of senior and junior buyers, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
- develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, availability, and pricing alignment with company standards.
- coordinate closely with design, construction, operations, and finance teams to align purchasing with project timelines and budget constraints.
- source new vendors and materials that align with company quality and sustainability standards.
- conduct market analysis to identify trends, alternative products, and competitive pricing.
- negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors and ensure compliance with company policies.
- manage inventory levels and delivery schedules to prevent delays and overstocking.
- maintain accurate procurement records, tracking orders, shipments, and cost-saving initiatives.
- ensure adherence to food safety and health regulations in product sourcing and storage.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, hospitality management or related field.
- minimum of 5+ years of procurement experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry, with a strong focus on ff&e, foh, and boh.
- proven experience leading procurement teams, including performance management and training.
- strong negotiation, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
- deep knowledge of restaurant equipment, materials, and operational needs.
- proficiency in procurement software (e.g., oracle, sap, marketman, or similar tools).
- excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- fluent in english; another language is a plus.
compensation & benefits:
- monthly salary: $60,000 mxn gross, depending on experience.
