Description
This position coordinates and assists to the train crew with operational failures or defects on Locomotives and Cars to avoid the delay of trains on line.
Accountabilities
Assists train crew with operational failure of cars and locomotives.
Coordinates the Technical Assistance on site for full assistance.
Drives the matrix communication, rules, processes standards and reporting.
Coordinates execution efforts regarding wayside detector technology.
Collaborates with Mechanical US team.
Measures and publishes metrics related to off line-shopping events.
Drives the time to response the alerts, received from the security devices installed on track.
Demonstrates operational excellence by knowing and applying the business requirements. Demonstrates customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using KCS Candor, Aligning the Stars & KCS ABC's, and have the individual produce better results.

Idóneo Candidate Qualifications
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations
Preferred
Experience on:
Mechanical Locomotives Shop
Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting
FRA/SCT regulation Basic Level
Call Center (Technical Support
People management and team work.

Working Conditions
Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
On-call responsibilities are an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support operations of critically important systems and/or processes 24 hours per day/7 days per week. On-call assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
