$200,000 – $240,000 + bonus + full benefits
about the opportunity
we’re partnering with a highly innovative engineering organization specializing in high-speed electric machines, magnetic bearings, and advanced power electronics used across aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
this is a high-impact, hands‑on engineering role where you’ll design and develop high-power converters and inverters (10kw–300kw) and help bring cutting‑edge products from concept through production.
the team is experiencing strong growth (~20% yoy) with long‑term plans to expand into multiple new business units — offering real career trajectory and technical ownership.
what you’ll be doing
* design and develop high-power dc/ac and dc/dc converters and inverters
* select and evaluate power topologies and switching devices (sic / gan)
* perform simulation, modeling, and control loop design (matlab/simulink, plecs, ltspice)
* analyze switching behavior, transients, and system performance
* lead prototype build, lab testing, debugging, and validation
* drive products through npi (new product introduction) into production
* conduct design reviews and technical evaluations
* collaborate cross‑functionally with controls, hardware, and manufacturing teams
* provide support for production and field issues
what we’re looking for
* bs or ms in electrical engineering (power electronics focus preferred)
* 5+ years of hands‑on power electronics design experience
* experience designing inverters, converters, or motor drives
* background working in the 10kw–300kw power range
* strong understanding of:
o 3-phase power systems
o pwm techniques (svpwm, sinusoidal, etc.)
o analog, digital, and power circuits
* experience with sic and/or gan devices
* proficiency with simulation tools (matlab/simulink, plecs, ltspice)
* strong debugging and lab validation experience
nice to have
* altium schematic and pcb layout experience
* magnetics design (high-frequency preferred)
* emi / noise mitigation and high-density pcb design
* experience with aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
why this role?
* work on cutting‑edge, high-speed electric machine technology
* be part of a highly specialized, elite engineering team
* strong compensation + bonus structure
* clear growth path as the organization scales
* exposure to advanced applications across multiple industries
additional notes
