Commercial director position

the role of commercial director is pivotal in driving business execution, with a balanced focus on both in-field and in-office work.


key responsibilities:

* develop and execute the commercial strategy for mexico in alignment with the company's mission, vision, and leadership direction.
* build, lead, and develop sales and wholesale teams, fostering a performance-driven culture.
* expand the wholesale business through strategic territory models, increasing penetration into small retailers while scaling growth with key accounts.
* establish and maintain high-level negotiations with clients, sales agencies, retail partners, and sport leagues/teams.
* identify and capitalize on new market opportunities across wholesale, multi-brand, and digital channels.
* monitor and analyze performance indicators (kpis) such as revenue growth, profitability, market share, and sell-through.
* research and establish commercial policies including pricing strategies, discount structures, payment terms, and delivery agreements.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial initiatives are fully integrated and executed effectively.
* oversee collection launches, promotional campaigns, and trade show participation to drive brand visibility and sales.
* provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to influence product development and assortment planning.
* build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders.
* develop accurate sales forecasts, financial plans, and business reports for senior management.
* ensure operational excellence in order management, delivery performance, and customer experience.


candidate profile & requirements:

1. a hands-on leader who develops strategies and leads by example in their execution.
2. experience and background:
* bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related fields.
* minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial or sales leadership roles within fashion, apparel, or fmcg industries.
* at least 6 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and driving commercial strategy.
* proven track record in leading large teams and managing complex negotiations with major accounts.
* demonstrated experience scaling businesses from early stages, with knowledge of the mexican market and a strong network of executives and key players.
* strong business acumen, analytical skills, and experience in building and executing go-to-market strategies.
* deep understanding of wholesale and retail sales channels, as well as fashion consumer behavior in mexico.
* must have experience in local client management and licensing business models.
* high english proficiency required.
* experience in p&l management and strategic planning preferred.
* availability for national and international travel.
