About the role
this hands-on generalist position is responsible for delivering proactive and practical hr support to a team of around 150 people.
the manufacturing technologies in the plant include injection molding and finishing/printing (laser, inkjet and hotstamp) and produces lid tags (visual and rfid) for the us and canadian markets.
key responsibilities:
* ensure optimal staffing levels across production lines, maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-resourced working environment.
* identify training needs and support internal talent development in alignment with team growth.
* foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement through clear, consistent communication and active participation.
* execute and monitor the onboarding process for both operators and staff as defined by the local extended hr team.
* collaborate with the extended hr team to design and implement a structured career planning and remuneration framework.
* develop and roll out a competency framework alongside a comprehensive training and development plan.
* support production leaders in identifying high-performing operators, ensuring they are recognized, developed, and promoted appropriately.
* act as the primary point of contact for operators on hr-related matters, including working conditions, hours, shifts, salary, bonuses, and performance.
* participate in the recruitment process by conducting interviews and managing the hr coordinator from tetakawi.
* lead exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide actionable feedback and improvement plans.
* monitor hr kpis and implement agreed-upon actions in collaboration with the plant manager and extended hr team.
* support the implementation of hr policies and coach line managers on compliance, performance management, and maintaining workplace discipline.
requirements
* a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational production organization with multi-national employees.
* an hr-related degree or relevant qualifications and up-to-date knowledge of local employment legislation.
* self-motivated with a results-driven approach and experience in implementing and sustaining performance through kpis.
* effective communication skills in both spanish and english, written and spoken, with additional languages such as italian being beneficial.
* competent hris systems knowledge and proficiency in excel for reporting tasks.
