we are seeking a hands‑on senior accountant with strong operational accounting experience to join our client's manufacturing environments finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, detail‑oriented environment and has a deep understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account classification, and month‑end close processes. The senior accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, booking journal entries, and ensuring compliance with u.s. Gaap and company policies.
responsibilities
* prepare, review, and post journal entries (jes) accurately and on time, ensuring proper gl coding and account classification.
* maintain balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
* support month‑end and year‑end close activities across multiple entities.
* analyze p&l variances and provide explanations for key fluctuations.
* collaborate with finance and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocations and reporting.
* assist with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations as needed.
* prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
* contribute to process improvements in accounting operations and erp workflows.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* >7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within multinational or shared service environments.
* strong understanding of u.s. Gaap, gl structure, and journal entry preparation.
* proven experience in gl coding, account classification, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* experience with erp systems such as dynamics 365, business central, sap, oracle, or netsuite.
* advanced excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
* excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
* english fluency (spoken and written).
preferred qualifications
* experience with intercompany accounting or multi‑entity manufacturing operations.
* participation in process improvement or erp implementation projects.
* knowledge of u.s. or canadian gaap, ifrs, or sox controls.
* cpa or equivalent certification (a plus).
