Japanese language faculty: per-hour position start date:august 2026elisia education hub, a prestigious english-only university committed to excellence in education, comprised of arkansas state university queretaro and texas state university mexico, is seeking dedicated professionals to uphold our high standards of language instruction.position we are seeking a passionate and experiencedjapanese language instructorto teach face-to-face courses on our querétaro campus. (instruction is conducted in english.) Courses serve students studying japanese as an additional foreign language within the liberal arts curriculum. This part-time faculty position offers scheduling flexibility while maintaining a structured academic calendar. We invite applications for a per-hour japanese language professor beginning august 2026.qualifications •a master's degree in japanese language teaching, linguistics, or education •certification or formal training in japanese language pedagogy (e.g., jlpt-related instruction, jsl/jfl teaching, or equivalent) •minimum of 2 years of experience teaching japanese as a foreign language, preferably at the university level •native or near-native proficiency in japanese and strong proficiency in english •familiarity with japanese language proficiency frameworks such as jlpt levels or actfl proficiency •strong intercultural communication skills, organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to diverse classroom environmentskey responsibilities and objectives instruction and lesson delivery •design and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with curriculum goals. •adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles. •supervise and support independent study assignments. •share lesson plans and materials with students as needed. Curriculum planning and assessment •maintain current lesson plans, grading records, and attendance logs. •develop and implement formative and summative assessments. •track student performance and growth; provide timely, constructive feedback. Student support and engagement •monitor student attendance, participation, and behavior. •encourage student autonomy and responsibility. •promote an inclusive, positive classroom environment. •identify and communicate individual developmental needs. Collaboration and professional development •participate in academic meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives. •engage in at least 5 hours of professional development per semester. •contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
