This part-time faculty position offers scheduling flexibility while maintaining a structured academic calendar. We invite applications for a per-hour japanese language professor beginning august 2026.qualifications •a master's degree in japanese language teaching, linguistics, or education •certification or formal training in japanese language pedagogy (e.g., jlpt-related instruction, jsl/jfl teaching, or equivalent) •minimum of 2 years of experience teaching japanese as a foreign language, preferably at the university level •native or near-native proficiency in japanese and strong proficiency in english •familiarity with japanese language proficiency frameworks such as jlpt levels or actfl proficiency •strong intercultural communication skills, organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to diverse classroom environmentskey responsibilities and objectives instruction and lesson delivery •design and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with curriculum goals. •adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles. •supervise and support independent study assignments. •share lesson plans and materials with students as needed.
