visión general
quality system management (20%):
* plan and implement advanced supplier quality control processes to enhance north american market supplier performance and achieve key performance indicators (kpis), in coordination with and under the guidance of the li sqm leader.
* develop preventive risk mitigation processes utilizing advanced product quality planning (apqp) methodologies and predictive analytics.
* support suppliers in establishing robust quality 'firewalls' to ensure stable, qualified deliveries to plants and markets through systematic and continuous process improvement and periodic training.
supplier development (70%):
* support the sourcing team in supplier selection and evaluation through audits and continuous performance monitoring.
* conduct initial and process audits, primarily based on iso 9001, vda 6.1, and vda 6.3 standards.
* collaborate with the regional quality team on new product development (npd) quality, specifically for production part approval process (ppap) verification.
* analyze root causes and drive corrective actions for supplier quality issues using problem-solving tools such as 8d, 5 why, and pdca (plan-do-check-act).
* continuously monitor and improve overall supplier quality performance.
* validate main supplier laboratories to ensure compliance with specifications.
* lead and develop the north american supplier quality engineering team, focusing on competency growth through the pod process and creative engagement strategies.
* organize and conduct internal training sessions for team members, ensuring alignment with the established qualification matrix.
responsabilidades
this role is responsible for optimizing the supplier quality management system to create a proactive quality ecosystem across the north american supplier base. It ensures compliance with li standards and processes while driving innovation, requiring cross-functional collaboration to elevate supplier quality and mitigate risk.
requisitios
* bs/ms in technology or engineering.
* vda6.1 / iatf16949 and vda 6.3 certified auditor.
* 5+ years hands-on quality management experience in manufacturing. Electronics or automotive industry experience is preferable.
* advanced application of aiag/vda core tools (eg apqp, fmea, spc and msa etc.).
* solution orientation with problem solving skills eg 5w1h/8d/fta.
* opening, active, proactive and strategic mindset.
* good team cooperation.
* native speaker of mexican spanish or english, good oral and written in english is a must have.
* oral and written in chinese/japanese is a plus.
* availability for business travel, mostly in the north america region (average ca. 50%, in cases of quality crisis at supplier potentially more).
