responsibilities
* provide sap basis consulting and analysis to help customers make informed choices related to sap enterprise solutions (erp, bw, s/4)
* install, configure, manage and support sap s/4hana (versions 2020, 1909, 1809, 1709, 1610, 1511, 1503), erp 6.0 ehp, process orchestrator, bw, bpc, netweaver fiori/gateway, solution manager, web dispatcher, content server, adobe document services, business objects and java-based netweaver products (e.g., enterprise portal)
* install, configure and monitor databases (hana, oracle, db2, sybase, mssql)
* perform sap system copies; administer and manage sap clients
* monitor day-to-day operations of a 3-tier sap landscape
* document standards, system architecture, runbooks and monitoring infrastructure
* support project tasks to meet deadlines
* provide break/fix support, expertise, minor enhancements, monitoring and testing for business applications or infrastructure
* collaborate with project consultants (project management, functional, security, development, automation)
* support sap cloud platform, cloud connector, cloud sso
* support sap applications in public cloud environments (aws, azure, google cloud) for basis operations
* set up and maintain customer systems
* handle incidents, requests, changes and problem management
* monitor system availability and performance of applications and databases
* manage major incidents and escalations; prepare incident reports
* create, update and maintain standard operating procedures
* perform backups and recovery using database tools
* apply patches and upgrades; manage database administration
* implement corrective actions from priority 1 incidents and conduct quarterly health checks
* enhance monitoring based on repetitive events and provide permanent solutions
* create knowledge-based articles and ensure consistency and quality
* maintain internal communication during priority 1 and priority 2 incidents
* participate in weekly/biweekly meetings with account managers and technical leaders
* conduct monthly sap security reviews and provide guidance to customers as applicable
* perform monthly sap earlywatch analysis and system performance tuning
qualifications
knowledge
* minimum of a bachelor’s degree, ideally with an mba/cpa or related degree
* 5-10 years of professional experience
* experience with having final responsibility for the quality and content of reporting for a division or significant program area
* itil training; itil certification is preferred
* sap s/4hana certification is a plus
* strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
* good english communication skills
technical / professional skills
* 5+ years sap basis experience with sap erp or s/4hana support/operations
* 5+ years sap basis experience with sap java support/operations
* 5+ years as-java experience (e.g., portal java, po java)
* strong dba skills (oracle, db2, mssql, hana, sybase)
* strong os skills (windows and linux sles or red hat)
* basic networking knowledge
* understanding of s/4hana technical conversion processes
* experience with java support package upgrades
* understanding of sso based on saml authentication
* knowledge of sap readiness check reports
* understanding of fiori deployment options and procedures
* strong communication and time management; ability to multi-task across projects
* dependable, reliable, task-oriented with ability to follow sops and documentation
* ability to work independently and drive s/4hana technical conversion initiatives
* experience with cloud-based fiori implementations in a hybrid s/4 landscape
* experience with focused run 2.0+ and related tooling
* experience creating fiori catalogs, tiles, and front-end/back-end security roles
* experience implementing sap authentication scenarios using kerberos, saml and related technologies
* familiarity with ui5 and ui5 applications
* familiarity with hosting fiori on aws, google cloud and/or microsoft azure
