at skf monterrey, we are looking for a purchasing specialist for direct materials to join our dynamic team.this role is essential in supporting our factories and driving strategic sourcing initiatives that enhance operational efficiency across the region.objective of the positionexecute the purchasing process for direct materials, support local factories, and implement strategic sourcing results.collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient procurement operations, implement contracts and agreements, and contribute to the development of standardized p2p (procure-to-pay) processes.key responsibilitieslead negotiations and sign supplier agreements within defined thresholds.coordinate cost reduction and supplier consolidation projects.review purchase requisitions and identify optimal sources for spot buys.provide procurement guidance and support to internal stakeholders throughout the procurement cycle.recommend cost‐effective or beneficial alternatives to original purchase requests.monitor supplier performance using qcdim (quality, cost, delivery, innovation, management) metrics.drive sourcing initiatives in alignment with the purchasing group manager.required skills & competenciesproactive, self‐motivated, and results‐driven.strong analytical and prioritization skills.excellent negotiation and conflict management abilities.effective communication and stakeholder management skills.proficiency in microsoft office tools.qualificationsbachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business, or a related field.minimum 4 years of experience in the automotive industry.fluent in english (spoken and written).
experience in purchasing automotive direct materials and supplier management (highly desirable).
familiarity with purchasing strategies and erp systems is a plus.
