About the role:
As the Security and Safety Director Complex, you will lead, coordinate, and ensure the continuous improvement of all Security and Safety programs across the hotel complex. You will act as the technical reference for risk prevention, emergency response, and safety management, protecting guests, employees, facilities, and assets. The role requires strong leadership, cross‑departmental collaboration, and operational expertise to ensure compliance with corporate standards and local regulations.
What will your key responsibilities be?
* Implement Security and Safety policies, standards, and management systems across the complex, including occupational health and risk prevention programs.
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee the annual Security and Safety budget, supporting decision-making for investments and operational needs.
* Serve as point of contact during critical incidents or crises, providing guidance and support to the Complex Management and operational teams.
* Investigate security incidents that may involve loss, exposure, or reputational risks.
* Collect and assess intelligence information relevant to the complex’s environment and potential security threats.
* Conduct audits and reviews of hotel security programs, including risk and vulnerability assessments and action plan follow-up.
* Support training initiatives in key areas such as security awareness, emergency response, and incident management.
* Act as technical reference to the Security and Safety Managers in each hotel, supporting the development of tailored safety initiatives.
* Collaborate in crisis management affecting the complex.
* Lead or participate in investigations related to criminal acts, workplace misconduct, or incidents impacting guests, staff, or brand reputation.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures (evacuation plans, fire safety, first aid, workplace safety, ergonomics, hygiene controls, etc.).
* Support the implementation of Safety and Risk standards across all hotels in the complex.
* Ensure compliance with local security and risk prevention regulations and international standards (ISO, OSHA).
* Identify and evaluate new technologies, solutions, and security providers.
* Plan and supervise drills, training, and internal communication programs related to comprehensive security.
* Promote a culture of safety throughout the complex, acting as the reference point for all Security and Safety matters.
* Participate in executive protection activities when required.
* Maintain formal and informal contact networks with authorities, hotel associations, and sector representatives.
* Manage and develop the team: scheduling, performance evaluations, workload distribution, motivation, and training participation.
* Ensure adherence to internal policies, confidentiality protocols, and company values.
What are we looking for?
* University degree in Engineering, Criminology, Security, Law, Occupational Risk Prevention, or related fields.
* Complementary training in Corporate Security, Risk Management, Crisis Management, or Compliance; ISO training valued.
* Minimum 5 years of international experience in Security & Safety within hotel complexes, including at least 3 years in team and budget management.
* Strong knowledge of crisis management, executive protection, security forces coordination, threat analysis, emergency response, evacuation, and occupational risk prevention.
* Proficiency in Security management systems and relevant IT tools.
* Languages: English and Spanish required; additional languages valued.
