A Fender is more than an instrument, it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally.We are searching for aMechanical Engineerbased inEnsenada, Mexico.In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of amplifier, pedals, pro audio and accessories working with supplied Industrial design concept through release to manufacturing.
Additionally, you will ensure that designs meet Marketing requirements, as well as R&D; design standards.
As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will also work with other senior members of the team in working with Manufacturing on new designs to assure manufacturability, and provide technical support on products already in production, with some direction from senior members on the team.Essential FunctionsDesign, analysis, and testing of Amplifier, Pedal, and Accessory products to ensure that they meet marketing and engineering requirementsUtilize prototyping technology to produce testable prototypes early in development.Host and participate in design reviews for all R&D; ProjectsWork closely with other mechanical engineers, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project management, and manufacturing engineers, as well as OEM engineersAttend evening meetings with overseas OEM factories if required.Evaluate First Article SamplesPerform Tolerance Analysis on critical product featuresPerform Solidworks Simulation studiesAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsMechanical Engineering Degree with 1 to 3 years of product development experience3 years of significant experience in related Electro-Mechanical designStrong Solidworks skills, sheet metal experience, or knowledge preferredSome knowledge of FEA tools, Solidworks Simulation preferredDesign, analysis, and problem-solving skills sufficient to design, with supervisionSome understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards is preferredSome knowledge of designing plastic and sheet metal componentsSome understanding of woodworking toolsAbility and willingness to work in the shop and get your hands dirty building prototypes, test samples, and test fixturesGood technical and non-technical communication skillsAn understanding of basic project management toolsMusical background is a plus, particularly guitar and related productsAbout Fender Musical InstrumentsFender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) is one of the world's leading musical instrument manufacturers, marketer,s and distributors, whose portfolio of brands includes Fender, Squier, Presonus, Gretsch, Jackson, EVH, Charvel, Bigsby, and Groove Tubes, among others.
