Allient inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a purchasing and production control manager to join our team in reynosa, mexico! The purchasing and production control manager directs and coordinates all activities related to purchasing and planning. This role manages supply chain functions, customer orders, material expediting, and production planning through the application of the pfep process. Responsibilities manage procedure qp-01 sales order confirmation: process receiving, entering, and confirming customer purchase orders and converting them into sales orders in the ax system. Manage procedure qp-02 production planning: identify material shortages to initiate immediate purchasing and expediting to ensure on-time deliveries to the customer. Manage procedure qp-03 purchasing and material expediting: oversee the production planning process to meet customer delivery requirements. Manage process dp-01 sales and material acquisition as the process owner, ensuring integrity, compliance, and effectiveness through kpis, procedures, work instructions, and required documented information. Maintain item masters. Direct and coordinate staff involved in reviewing and accepting customer orders and expediting materials according to the pfep and/or mrp system. Verify on-time delivery of materials (direct, indirect, and packaging materials). Maintain adequate inventory levels according to established objectives and monitor slow-moving and/or obsolete materials. Develop, improve, and implement procedures and work instructions; supervise staff training and compliance using appropriate kpis. Oversee departmental costs and efficiency to optimize resources using standard work. Develop and manage the departmental budget, including transportation and expediting costs. Serve as liaison with functional or operational managers (design, sales, production, or engineering) to ensure materials support current and future needs, including new and existing product development initiatives. Research and select suppliers. Maintain strong supplier relationships. Negotiate pricing, terms, and additional costs (ppv). Work with the quality team and suppliers to improve purchased material quality and reduce defects. Review engineering changes with planners/buyers to determine impact on purchased materials and execute necessary adjustments. Lead strategic purchasing initiatives aligned with corporate purchasing objectives. Provide leadership, direction, and management to all assigned personnel and promote a culture of continuous improvement (ast). Establish the siop process, provide the sales stl, and establish forecasts and blanket pos with suppliers. Support and promote continuous improvement and safety culture. Perform other functions or activities related to the area as assigned. Minimum requirements bachelor’s degree, preferably in administration or materials management, required. Mba preferred. At least 5 years of experience in material acquisition in a manufacturing environment. At least 3 years of supervisory experience. Strong experience in supplier and customer relationship management. Demonstrated experience in strategic supply chain management and pfep. Excellent computer skills, including ms office and erp systems, preferably ms d365. Apics certification and strong iso knowledge preferred. Physical demands work performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional standing and walking on the production floor. Must operate a computer or other office equipment. Occasionally required to lift and/or carry items weighing 10 to 40 pounds. Work environment predominantly office environment with occasional exposure to the production area. While in the production area, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and must use safety equipment, such as safety glasses, lab coat, and possibly safety footwear.
