The tax analyst is responsible for supporting the company's tax compliance and reporting obligations in mexico, with a primary focus on indirect taxes (vat, excise taxes, etc.) at the local, federal, and international levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mexican tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A working knowledge of direct taxes is also required.
qualifications
* education: bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* experience:
o +3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on mexican indirect taxes.
o experience with mexican tax compliance software and e-invoicing systems.
* skills:
o strong understanding of mexican vat law and regulations.
o experience with [specific erp system, e.g., sap, oracle].
o working knowledge of mexican income tax law.
o experience with cross-border transactions and international tax principles.

responsibilities
* 4 days on site gtbc méxico (naucalpan, méxico)
* indirect tax compliance:
o prepare and file all required mexican indirect tax returns (e.g., vat) accurately and timely, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
o reconcile vat accounts and ensure accurate reporting of input and output vat.
o monitor changes in mexican indirect tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company.
o maintain up-to-date knowledge of vat rules related to cross-border transactions, including imports, exports, and services.
o assist with indirect tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
o ensure compliance with e-invoicing requirements (cfdi) and other digital tax regulations.
o tax cash back claims process (support documentation and filings)
* direct tax support:
o assist with the preparation of the annual income tax return and related schedules.
o support the calculation of estimated income tax payments.
o maintain a working knowledge of mexican income tax law.
