Supply chain specialist – materials managementoversee all aspects of purchasing, supplier management, and materials planning to support production schedules and cost objectives for a high‐volume manufacturing environment.key responsibilitiesexecute day‐to‐day purchasing activities for domestic and international suppliers, including purchase order issuance and follow‐up.manage supplier relationships across categories such as plastic injection, stamping, and metal parts, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance.develop, monitor, and report on key purchasing kpis such as order lag, inventory levels, and on‐time delivery performance.lead mrp and erp (sap, oracle, epicor, jd‐edwards) execution, applying mrp logic to meet demand while controlling inventory and safety stock.perform data analysis for inventory discrepancies, cost breakdowns, and continuous improvement initiatives.drive cost estimation and cost analysis for new product designs, collaborating with engineering and design to support competitive pricing.negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, including supplier development and management practices.support sales & operations planning (s&op) and forecasting activities with accurate material and supplier data.coordinate production planning and material procurement to ensure alignment with manufacturing schedules and customer demands.lead cross‐functional project teams to implement process improvements, waste reduction, and lean six sigma initiatives.meet health, safety, environment, and company operating system requirements in all activities.mentor junior team members and provide guidance on supplier management and analytical practices.qualificationsbachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business administration, or a related field.3–5 years of experience in purchasing, supply‐chain, production planning, or materials planning roles within manufacturing.proficiency with erp/mrp systems (sap preferred, oracle, epicor, jd‐edwards experience a plus).
