*position summary*:
*key responsibilities*:
- oversee and manage all general ledger activity and month-end/year-end closing processes
- maintain strict compliance with us gaap and internal control policies
- lead preparation and submission of financial statements and reports
- ensure accurate and timely filing of federal (irs), state (cdfta, ftb), and local tax filings, including sales tax returns
- manage and review accounts payable (ap) and accounts receivable (ar) processes
- handle all audits and liaise with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and tax authorities
- supervise daily accounting operations and lead a team of accounting professionals
- drive continuous process improvements and financial reporting automation
- provide strategic financial insights and support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- maintain and optimize use of quickbooks and other accounting software
- ensure proper documentation and compliance for internal and external audit requirements
- evaluate accounting systems and implement improvements as needed
- able to manage a big team
*required qualifications*:
- cpa (u.s.) certification or equivalent international credential
- bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; master’s degree preferred
- *10-15 years of accounting experience, including big 4 public accounting background*:
- advanced proficiency in quickbooks (desktop and online versions)
- in-depth knowledge of gaap, debits and credits, and general accounting practices
- strong understanding of irs regulations, cdfta, ftb, and sales tax laws
- experience managing ap and ar processes end-to-end
- proven leadership in managing accounting teams and implementing best practices
- excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- strong ethical standards and high level of integrity
- experience in multi-entity or multi-state business operations
- familiarity with industry-specific accounting software or erp systems
- prior experience in internal controls design and risk management
