What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a Senior User Researcher to define ongoing strategic opportunities for our UGC products, with emphasis on generative and exploratory research to drive continuous evolution and impact.
What You Will Do
- Help identify the questions we need to answer to move strategy and execution forward. Your insights will inform company strategy, product experiences, and long-term roadmaps.
- Advocate for and develop the strategic direction of the UGC brands, acting as a thought leader and contributor with brand and cross-functional team leadership.
- Design, scope, and run user research to learn latent and unmet needs of Scribd and Slideshare users through generative, iterative, and evaluative methods.
- Assist multiple product managers, designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders with a wide range of research needs, from large and generative to small and tactical.
- Make research findings relevant and impactful through crafted insights, decks, stories, videos, and testimonials, and foster broad engagement in user research studies to drive informed decision making.
- Build and implement innovative user research processes to meet product delivery goals.
- Leverage company-provisioned AI tools to maximize efficiencies in research while maintaining appropriate human oversight for critical impact.
About You
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and conducting market/product/design research with demonstrated impact on roadmaps, design outcomes, and team processes.
- Able to navigate ambiguous opportunity spaces to extract information for a clear path forward.
- Comprehensive knowledge of qualitative UX research methods and quantitative surveys at scale.
- BA/BS in Psychology, Social Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to translate human-centered insights into business answers.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead cross-functional brainstorming and strategic partnerships.
- Ability to own a slice of the research roadmap and prioritize workloads amid shifting priorities.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple research studies concurrently.
Compensation and Benefits
At Scribd, base pay is part of total compensation and is determined within a range based on location. Salary ranges reflect local cost of labor benchmarks and may vary by level and geography. California: $122,500 – $191,000; United States outside California: $101,000 – $181,000; Canada: CAD 128,000 – CAD 169,500. Equity and a comprehensive benefits package are included.
