objectives:
lending and transaction management (l&tm) has been formally established to manage the growth and development of the loan book in a controlled manner.
l&tm will ensure globally consistent approach to the interface with risk and appropriate alignment between first line of defence (flod) and second line of defence (slod), effective introduction of all requirements in the portfolio risk management handbook into the flod, the management of financial and risk performance of the loan book globally, the product management of the family of loan products in a compliant manner, that appropriate assets are steered into the bank in accordance with global strategy and that the loan book is managed proactively to ensure an appropriate shape for a forward-looking scenario.
the role supports the new deals (origination) approval process of across the region, vets proposals to deal prioritisation committee (dpc) and below, supports relationship managers (rms) in structuring large and complex transactions.
the role also includes team targets, coaching, and supports risk-weighted asset (rwa) forecast, worry/ watch/ monitor (wwm) and low return clients (lrc) processes, monitors exposure caps and provides management information.
principal activities
- being responsible for the orc and omnia reviews (cmb global profitability tools) and the analysis of the profitability model.
will perform a return analysis to ensure the portfolio is moving in the right direction.
orc training planned for all segments and countries within lam.
preparation of analysis and trend reports of the portfolio with regional lam and group coverage in the uk
- the role holder will be responsible for deal point (global cmb profitability tool) reviews, modelling overview and analysis.
the tool is a key part of the process to improve global cmb's returns and as such is strategically important.
- the role will require the holder to perform return analysis to ensure that the portfolio is progressing in the right direction.
- the role holder will be expected to conduct planned, deal point training to all segments and countries within lam.
- the role holder will be responsible for organizing deal prioritizations committees for lam cmb, including coordinating times and documentation.
- the role holder will be responsible for the approval workflow tool and ancillary tracking being appropriately rolled out and used in lam cmb.
these enhancements are key to ensuring that the front line are delivering on promised returns and ancillary business and ensure we continue to push on commitments.
- this will be a regional role, and the role holder is also expected to engage and drive the implementation of wpm improvements in argentina, chile, mexico and uruguay.

knowledge & experience
- experience in areas such as finance, risk or customer portfolio analytics.
extensive experience in cmb (product, process, clients, compliance)
- knowledge of cmb credit & risk policy, frontline sales environment, and lending products (desirable)
- strong analytical and project management skills,
- ability to work without close supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of hsbc process and culture.
